A unique blend of polyethylene monofilament fibers and nylon thatch layers simulates a fine blade fescue or blue grass.
This combination of fibers gives the turf its very soft, plush carpet like feel.
The nylon thatch layer gives turf the bounce and resiliency characteristics needed in a playground application. It also hides the SofFill™ infill used to hold the system firmly in place.
Why SofFill Is Superior
Our SofGrass™ playground surfacing system utilizes SofFill™, a natural, clean, anti microbial, non-toxic, non-flammable infill product that is up to 20% cooler than other standard infill materials. It will not compact over time, and is not subject to bacteria buildup often associated with crumb rubber and sand systems.
Turf systems installed with our SofFill™ are less abrasive and offer better traction characteristic than crumb rubber and sand infilled systems. The rounded, uniformly-sized, clear acrylic-coated silica sand eliminates the abrasion characteristic of rough-edged, angular sand. Abrasion is not only uncomfortable for children and athletes, but also cuts and wars the fiber, shortening the life of the synthetic grass.
Our special clear acrylic coating creates a lubricating effect, lengthening the life of the turf and making it a more comfortable surface.

Crumb rubber systems are inherently warmer than SofGrass™ system because rubber absorbs and retains heat to a far greater degree than the acrylic coated quartz SofFill™ product.
